Zan Jeffrey Stone, 50, died Thursday November 20, 2014 at his residence.

He was born in Hawaii, the son of the late Helen Robinson Stone and Emmett Edward Stone. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was employed with Southwest Airlines for 24 years.

A celebration of his life will be held 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon November 29, 2014 in the Chapel of Bright Funeral Home.

Mr. Stone is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Stone; daughters, Zandrea Kuyrkendall and husband, Brandon of Hendersonville, Britney Stone of Raleigh, Melanie Stone and husband, Ricky Rudd, Jr., of Youngsville; grandchildren, Kylie Sowa, Isabella Rudd and Berend Kuyrkendall; sister, Angela Young of Albuquerque, NM and a brother, Bruce G. Stone and wife Carla of Albuquerque, NM.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to the Wounded Veterans Association at AMVETS.ORG

Friends may visit with the family immediately following the service at Bright Funeral Home & Cremation Center 405 South Main St Wake Forest, NC 27587. (919-556-5811)

I will say the same words as Bob Barron. I also was stationed with Bob. We would go Emmet& Helens home when we were in Hawaii, '63-'66. They were very special to us. They will always be missed. I am truly sorry that Zan passed.

As I remember Zan my thoughts are of a baby. I only knew Zan as the son of Helen and Emmett 50 years ago when I served in the USAF in Hawaii with his Dad.
My heart was saddened when I heard the news of his passing. Bruce and Angela please know that I will pray for Zan.
