Zegan Mills Obituary
Zegan was born August 22, 1982 in Cobb County, the son of Eddie Mills and Darlene Vernon Mills-Henson. He was employed at Reicon Management, was a member of Oakland Heights Baptist Church and loved hunting, the Georgia Bulldogs and his dog "Case".
He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Sonja Ann Vernon and his grandfather, Zedick Mills.
Surviving are his parents, Eddie and Shelia Mills and Darlene and Tim Henson all of Cartersville, his sister and brother in law, Cali Henson Pharis and Jeremy, his brother, Matthew Evans, grandparents, Lucille Mills, Danial Vernon, Mary Weaver, all of Cartersville, Lizette and Riley Henson of Rockmart, Aunt Pat, his girlfriend, Courtney Rice, uncles, Westley and Linda Vernon, Doug and Toni Jane Vernon, of Cartersville, cousin, Danial Vernon and Megan Vernon of Cartersville, aunts and uncles, Patricia and Boyd McBurnett of Newnan, Ronnie Turner, Calvin and Janice Turner, Andrea and David Williams, all of Cartersville and a number of cousins also survive.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from 4:00-8:00 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 13, 2012, at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Owen Funeral Home with Rev. Sammy Burgess and Doug Vernon officiating.
Burial will follow in Sunset Memory Gardens.
Pallbearers will be Brenton Baggett, Matt Hickom, Brian Tilley, Ricky McFarland, Mike Howard, Logan Cagle, Josh Martin and Dave Williams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Evans and Danial Vernon.

I happened to drive by when all the emergency vehicles were in the street, and saw the many people comforting each other on the lawn. My husband and I live a couple of doors down from Zegan. I first met Zegan two years ago while having dinner on the patio at a local restaurant. This strange guy came up and asked, “do you mind if my friend and I join you?" I hesitated at the odd request and only agreed after he explained that the friend was his girlfriend. Zegan was hilarious; we laughed for hours and I can't remember when I've had such a good time. During our conversation we both realize we were actually neighbors. We will miss our sweet neighbor.

These next few days and months will be the hardest you have ever gone through for sure.
