Zenia Moorhouse Obituary

Published by Vancouver Sun and/or The Province on Feb. 27, 2015.
Zenia Moorhouse March 10, 1961 - December 15, 2014 Zen was taken into the Arms of Angels in Yale BC at her home on the banks of the mighty Fraser River. Zen really enjoyed Yale for its mountain views, rushing water and being close to nature. Zen always likes the Trains especially in the winter when both could be seen at the same time on each side of the Fraser.

Zen will be forever loved and missed for her smile, amazing charisma and intelligence. A past student of Vancouver's Algard Choir, Zen was an accomplished singer. Zen's hobbies included playing the piano as she made it to Grade 5 (rcom). Zen was also an accomplished seamstress and could sew anything. Zen's pastimes included looking for and purchasing real estate, making moisturizers and lip balms and going to the sunshine coast to the many resorts, kayaking and traveling to Vancouver Island to spa's as well as several in the interior. Some of Zen's favorite music was Bob Marley, Adel, Buckcherry and Queen to name only a few.

Zen was a long time employee of Fraser Health (1997) as a Food Services Supervisor and worked at various hospitals and Care Homes where she touched many with her kindness and warmth. Recently Zen was working at Felburn care center in Burnaby. Zen tried very hard to insure the Kitchen ran properly and was safe. Zen took her role very seriously she was always seeing that patients and residents were looked out for. Most of all Zen really cared for her Staff who made it all happen.

Zen would like to give to those who are less fortunate and was always willing to help those in need. Zen would attend native events such as powwow's and believed very strongly in native rights and issues in the downtown east side. Zen always tried to attend the women's march.

Zen really carried for and cherished so very much her two granddaughter's, Lyla and Emily and Grandson James, they will be in her heart forever.

There will be a memorial Tea for Zen, held in Abbotsford on Sunday March 15, 2015 from 1pm to 3pm at the Abbotsford Arts Center 2329 Crescent Way, Abbotsford BC.

You are remembered forever, Zen. I still can't believe you are gone far too soon. I keep thinking about how we were planning to get together to see James. I really liked your bubbly personality and passion for the things you loved. Good bye.
