Harley Slick Obituary
He was born on Aug. 6, 1931, in Whitmore Lake, the son of the late Russell and Nina (Fox) Slick. On Oct. 9, 1954, he married Elizabeth Hindes in Angola, Ind., and she preceded him in death on Sept. 30, 2014.
Harley proudly served his country in Korea with the U.S. Army. He was self-employed in construction and also retired from the Tecumseh Products Co. after 36 years as a foreman. Harley was a jack of all trades who enjoyed tinkering with his Army jeep and enjoyed spending time at his cottage, fishing and going hunting.
Harley is survived by three sons, Randy Slick of Milan, Jeff Slick of Britton and Brad (Deb) Slick of Onsted; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 29, 2019, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Tecumseh Chapel of Handler Funeral Home. A funeral service to celebrate Harley's life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Grace United Methodist Church in Britton with Pastor Mark Zender officiating and visitation from 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Ridgeway Cemetery with military honors under the auspices of American Legion Post #34 and VFW Post #4187.
