Paul Byrnes Obituary
He was born on Sept. 8, 1951, in St. Johns, Mich. He was a graduate of Ovid-Elsie High School. Paul served in the United States Air Force for three years before receiving his undergraduate degree from Grand Valley State University, his graduate degree from the University of Michigan and his Doctorate from Wayne State University. He did his OB-GYN medical residency at Hurley Medical Center in Flint, Mich. Before coming to Lenawee County, he also practiced outside of Altoona, Pa. Dr. Byrnes brought more than 10,000 babies into the world in Lenawee County alone.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bob Byrnes. He is survived by his mother, Waneta Byrnes (Frisbie); wife, Theresa Byrnes (Nash); two children, Steven (Dawn) Byrnes and Kristin (Kyle) Seegert; siblings, Rob (Robbie) Byrnes, Mark (Darlene) Byrnes, Kevin (Lori) Byrnes, Brad (Kelly) Byrnes, Julie (Gloria) Byrnes and Sherry Byrnes. He also leaves behind countless nieces, nephews, distant family and friends.
In lieu of traditional funeral services, the family will be holding a celebration of Paul's life at a location and time to be determined.

So sorry to hear of Paul's passing. We spent many week-ends together when we were in high school. Always played euchre on our lunch time(we were always partners) We road many miles together on my motorcycle. Great times wonderful man. He will be sadly missed

So sad to hear of his passing. He was an extraordinary doctor. He delivered 2 of my daughters, both in his hospital suite. He was so calming and caring. I was heartbroken when he retired and more heartbroken now. Prayers for his family and loves ones.

Paul was not only a great doctor, but a wonderful family man as well. He was my brother-in-law, so I am very fortunate to have had the opportunity to have shared many vacations, family events and conversations over the years with him. His many quirks are what made him so unique and gave us so many laughs. He was a man who truly loved his family and was very dedicated to his job and his patients. There will always be a void in our hearts that he once filled. Our hearts are filled with sadness from his passing and gratitude for the prayers, thoughtful comments and photos shared by his patients and their families. RIP Paul. I know you'll always be watching over us. We love and miss you so much already.

Paul was the father of my best friend kristin. I couldn't ask for a better person in my life for 20 years so far.
Paul was a funny guy and had his own way of doing things. He didn't blend in and it was awesome!! His scrubs, leather jacket, Chocolate milk ,and a chewed pen driving in his sports car to deliver a baby or save a life that's how I'll remember him. I've only had a few discussions with him over the years but I was always around his house and his family since they pretty much were my extended family.....He will always be a super hero in my eyes because not only was he a legit doctor(which are hard to come by), he was there for his family, he gave me my best friend, and treated me like family too.

I'm so sorry to hear of Dr. Byrnes passing. He was a wonderful doctor who delivered my 2 youngest children and my only regret is that he wasn't my doctor when I delivered my oldest daughter. Kind caring and fun, what a loss to us all. Rest in Peace Dr. Byrnes.

I am so sad to hear about Dr Byrne's passing. I was so blessed to have him deliver our 3 boys and take care of me through 2 miscarriages. No matter how bad things were or how much pain I was in,the moment he entered the room I felt at peace.what a wonderful man.

My heart broke hearing of the passing of Dr. Byrnes. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. I will always hold a special place in my heart for this doctor, he delivered both my children. My sincere condolences. Dr. Byrnes delivered all 4 of my children. I watched him save my son, this man genuinely cared. The expression on his face was as joyous as mine each time he handed me my new little bundle. Those were beautiful unforgettable moments that Dr. Byrnes will forever be a part of. He will live on in these memories that I'm so glad I got to have with him. Thank you Dr. Byrnes so much for just being you. Rest peacefully , your good work lives on.

I was saddened to hear about Dr. Byrnes' passing. He was such a big part of my pregnancies. He delivered me in 1989, my cousins, my siblings and my own three children. He had the ability to make a single, scared young mom to be feel comfortable and confident at a very vulnerable time. (My first pregnancy) I will never forget that! Thank you Doc. You will be missed. What a great Dr. I will always wonder how many pens he went through in a week. He welcomed me being a first time single mom. I was 19 then. He discovered my cervical cancer and took care of it as soon as I had my daughter. He and his wife helped me so much then. I had my other 2 boys he also delivered them. Almost lost my 2nd child, he saved his life. He will be 16. And was amazed at how big my 3rd child was. He helped me grieve the loss of my 2 unborn babies. I am forever greatful. I pray for peace and comfort for his family. RIH Dr. Byrnes.
