Stephen Stanley Borton

1943 - 2020

MORENCI - Stephen Stanley Borton, age 77, of Morenci passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 9, 2020, at Oasis at Adrian.

He was born on Aug. 22, 1943, in Adrian, the son of Kirk and Barbara (Judson) Borton. He was a graduate of Morenci High School. After graduating high school, Steve proudly joined the U.S. Army, serving during the Cuban Missile Crisis from December 1962 to December 1965. Steve married Cynthia Howard, and she preceded him in death. He was a member of the First Congregational Church in Morenci.

Steve had an adventurous soul, he loved riding motorcycles and lived in many different areas throughout the U.S. He was a horticulturist at heart and had a gift for growing his houseplants that took over sections of his home. He had two boxers, Bruno and Buster, who were his constant companions. Most of all, Steve had a kind heart, and he loved his family.

Steve is survived by his children, La Cinda (Jeff) Womack of Novi, Justin Pigg of Toledo and Sara (David) Lynch of Warner Robins, Ga.; two sisters, Mary Jane (Steve) Dopp of Tecumseh and Lisa (David) Stambaugh of Fayette, Ohio; four grandchildren, Adam Bedingfield, Dashal Womack, Astrid Pigg and Rudy Pigg; two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his wife, Cynthia, he was preceded in death by his parents.

Services for Steve will be private, and burial will be held in Oak Grove Cemetery in Morenci. You may send condolences to the family at www.eaglemarryfuneralhome.com. Memorial contributions may be given to the First Congregational Church in Morenci or to Hospice of Lenawee.
