Thomas E. Moore

1939 - 2017

ADRIAN - Thomas E. Moore, age 78, of Adrian passed away Aug. 30, 2017, at Provincial House surrounded by his family.
He was born Jan. 7, 1939, in Wayne County, Mich., the son of Ewart and Gertrude (Hively) Moore. Tom retired from the Ford Motor Co. Milan plant in 2006 after 27 1/2 years of service. While at Ford Motor Co. he, along with three other co-workers, was granted a patent for a mechanically actuated chip-less boring head for forming a hole in a workpiece.
Tom was a part of a bowling and pool league for many years. He enjoyed tractor pulls in Bowling Green, Ohio. Tom was mechanically inclined and enjoyed fixing tractors and cars. He enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his boys and going to the races at Oak Shade. Tom was a commander for the Tecumseh Sons of the American Legion Post #34 from 1989 to 1990.
Tom is survived by his wife, Nancy Moore; two sons, Thomas Lee Moore and Mark Aaron Moore; one grandson, Tyler Owen Moore; one sister, Shirley Moore; and one brother, Dennis (Veronica) Moore. He was preceded in death by parents, Ewart and Gertrude Moore; two sons, Gary Michael Moore and Anthony Edward Moore; one sister, Wanda Dehnke; and four brothers, Ronald, Donald, Richard V. and Harry Moore.
Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at J. Gilbert Purse Funeral Home, 2959 N. Adrian Highway, Adrian, with the Rev. Bruce Jewett officiating.
