Linda Bubak Obituary

Linda Bubak

February 20, 1945 - August 19, 2025

Linda L. Bubak, passed away on August 19, 2025, in Cozad, Neb., at the age of 80, following a tragic accident. She was born on February 20, 1945, in Smith Center, Kan., and spent her formative years in Cozad.

Linda graduated from Cozad High School with the class of 1963. Following her graduation, she began her career as a babysitter and worked at the Dixie Inn during high school. She then joined Ford's Pharmacy, where she remained through several name changes to Sloan's Pharmacy and S & S Pharmacy. Linda later went on to work at Cozad Medical Clinic and Cozad Hospital, where she was involved in various roles in the kitchen, as a nurse aide, in the office, and most notably, as a caregiver, which brought her immense joy.

In June of 1963, Linda married her high school sweetheart, Robert Bubak. Their union was blessed with two sons, Todd and Mick. As a family, they cherished each moment together, and Linda's heart expanded further when she became the guardian of her cousin Ryan, whom she and Bob considered their third son.

Linda had a passion for nature and enjoyed working in her yard. Her family was very special to her, and she found great joy in attending her sons' school events. In later years, her grandchildren became the light of her life, and she treasured the moments spent with them.

She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, especially her family, who brought her so much happiness. Linda's spirit lives on in the hearts of her family and friends who will remember her kindness, dedication, and unwavering love.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harley and Mildred Gibson and In-laws, Jerry and Dorothy Bubak; brothers, Larry 'Hoot', Dale and Vic Gibson; and sister-in-law, Judy Gibson. Survivors include her sons, Todd (Lisa) Bubak, Mick (Jill) Bubak and Ryan (Shay) Holbrook; grandchildren, Chase (Brittany) Bubak, Blake (Tori) Bubak, Macy Bubak, Blake Becher, Tenley Bubak, and Kooper, Konner and Adeline Holbrook; step brother, Danny Wiley; sisters-in-law, Carolyn Gardner and Carol Gibson; her very special friends, Sandy Sheets Keiswetter and Carol Carson Gerk; and many other extended family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the family for later designation. A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 30, 2025 at 10:30 a.m. at the Berryman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Kathy Gundell officiating. The family invites everyone to dress casual. Burial will be private. Memorial book signing with family present will be Friday, August 29, 2025 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Berryman Funeral Home.
