Percy Borges Obituary

Percy H. Borges, 77, of Lexington passed away on Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021 at Kearney Regional Medical Center.
Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 22, 2021 at 1:30 p.m. at the Reynolds-Love Funeral Home in Lexington with Paul Pack, officiating. The service will be live streamed on the Reynolds Love Facebook page.
Face coverings will be mandatory at the service.
A book signing will be held Thursday, Jan. 21, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. at Reynolds-Love Funeral Home.
A celebration of life will be held this summer.
He was born July 15, 1943 in Sidney, Nebraska to John and Fern (Mount) Borges. He attended school in the Sidney area and graduated from Garden County High School with the class of 1961. After graduation he served his country in the United States Navy from 1961 until being honorably discharged in 1967. In December of 1967, he was united in marriage to Norma Jacobs, to this union three children were born; Bill, Dan and Susan. The couple would later divorce.
Following the Navy he worked as a mechanic at Bruning Chevrolet in Oshkosh. He then went to work for Kansas-Nebraska Natural Gas Company and moved to Lexington in 1982. After the gas company downsized Percy delivered propane for Lexington Coop and then was employed by Miller & Associates in Kearney until he "retired" in 2010. After retirement he did yard work for Mike Schmidt and drove vehicles for Platte Valley Auto.
Percy loved anything outdoors, hunting, fishing, guns, motorcycles and working on lawn mower and boat engines. He was often seen moving snow around town. Percy was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the Lexington Optimist Club.
He is survived by his life partner; Ellen Noe of Lexington; two sons, Dan and wife Lynn Borges of Kearney and Bill and wife Sara Borges of Kearney; one daughter, Susan (Jesse Starke) Robertson of Loveland, Colo.; Ellen's children, Craig and fiancé Amber Dedic of Scottsbluff and Amy and husband Jeremy Grace of South Sioux City; two brothers, John and wife Beth Borges of Chadron and Andrew and wife Janyce Borges of Sidney; three sisters, Joyce Borges of Cottonwood, Ariz., Jeanette Borges of Oshkosh and Julia (Lyn) Davison of Cochise, Ariz.; sister-in-law; Virgina Borges of Vernon, Utah; grandchildren, Janet, Lisa, Mark, Katrina, Mike, Matt and Jacob; great-grandchildren: Rannon, Cole, Lincoln, Chase, Stella, Logan, Jackson and one on the way; Ellen's grandchildren, Dax, Trey and Taylor as well as many nieces, nephews extended family and friends.
Percy was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Glen and son-in-law, Les Robertson.
In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to the family for later designation.

Percy was the best brother-in-law/brother, of all time! His passion for life, fishing(walleye), hunting, duck calls, guns, hip waders, stories, and the best advice and hugs. Dudley, Sara, even Dale, and I loved you to pieces. Best of all was the happiness you brought to Ellen! What a great couple! Percival, Lesa Lou will love and miss you forever!
