Robert Dodd Obituary

Robert Stanley "Stan" Dodd age 68 of Lakewood, Colo., died on Saturday August 9, 2025, surrounded by his family in York, Neb. He was born on August 17, 1956, to James and Nova "Fern" (Breeden) Dodd in Lexington, Neb. He was a graduate of Lexington High School. Stan proudly served his country as a Sergeant in the United States Army and was honorably discharged. Stan was an avid hunter and fisherman. Most of all Stan loved all things music and loved playing the drums and of course the Nebraska Cornhuskers.

He is survived by his daughters, Samantha (Erick) Hurtado of York, Nicole (James) Vanderpool of Lincoln, Neb., Jamie (David) Adame of Columbus; stepdaughter, Lea Mooney of Aurora, Colo.; 14 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; three nephews; brother-in-law, Vic Loose of Lexington and brother, Steven (Jen) Dodd of Washington.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, and sister, Nancy.

Funeral services are scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, August 12, 2025 at Metz Chapel in York with the Reverend Mary Scott officiating. Interment will be held at the Nebraska Veteran Memorial Cemetery in Grand Island, Neb. at a later date. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service at Metz Chapel. Memorials may be directed to the family for later designation. Condolences may be sent to the family at metzmortuary.com. Metz Mortuary in York is handling the arrangements.
