Chase Callahan Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Chase Callahan, 19, of Rockville Centre NY, on March 31, 2025. Born as one of a beloved trio, Chase was a cherished son, brother, grandson, and friend who brought light and love into the lives of all who knew him. Chase was the beloved son of Heidi and Josh Callahan and a treasured brother to his triplet brothers, Aidan and Brady. Though faced with challenges throughout his life, Chase's strength, gentle spirit, and radiant smile inspired everyone around him. His life was a beautiful example of courage, resilience, and unconditional love. He is survived by his loving grandparents, Pam Fessler and John and Georgia Callahan. He was predeceased by his grandfather, Dale Fessler, with whom he now rests in peace. Chase was a beloved nephew of Dale and Johanna Fessler, Jennifer and Nick Mastroianni and Kimberly and Mike Lamonica and a beloved cousin. Chase had many passions and really loved all kinds of music. He was considered a "Swifty". Chase also loved to spend his time at the beach where he would often take a nap to the sound of the waves or at Thompson's Lake where he liked relaxing on lazy summer days on the lake. When at home Chase loved the chaos of the family and laughing with his triplet brothers. Chase was considered the Mayor at his school as he put a smile on everyone's face he encountered. Chase's family thanks all the doctors, nurses and therapists all those that were apart of his life. Visitation will be held on Friday, April 4, from 3:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Thomas A. Glynn & Son Funeral Home. A graveside service will be held at a later date at Thompson's Lake Rural Cemetery in East Berne, NY. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Chase's memory to the Carman Road School PTA, 1 Carman's Road, Massapequa, NY 11762-a place that was close to Chase's heart. Chase will be forever loved and missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.

I will forever be grateful for my years of teaching Chase In my class as well as the millions of hallway and school encounters we would share after. Having to pivot to remote learning during covid, I quite often got to join in the Callhan family antics VIA Chases iPad. I would Talk to Chase about his topics of interest, ( His brothers and family, dogs, school friends, the rumba vacuum he loved to watch attack his dogs) play the fun versions of his wide music selections , read him Pete the cat books ,and just say and do whatever it took to see that huge infectious smile and hear the incredible yelps of laughter .Once back in school ... It was always so amazing to see Chase enjoy so many things about his school day. It´s been said that he was known as the mayor of Carman Road School - and he honestly was! With so many people stopping to talk and interact with him- all with a different song to sing or a special jokes for him to make him happy and laugh - but also , Selfishly so many of us search for that deep in your soul satisfaction that no matter what level of pain or discomfort he would have at times- he would always find the joy in that moment and take the time to soak it in. He gave us more than we could have ever given to him.
During the remote learning days, Heidi shared that Chase hated when we said goodbye to him and would always get upset. He hated the fun to end, even if it was just talking over an iPad. I would always say something silly to make him laugh like" ok Chase- Guacamole!"
And would leave him happy. When someone is that impactful, it is never really goodbye....So again Chase, I won´t say goodbye to you- only "Guacamole" . I like to think that your pain is gone, and you are free from your chair and orthotics and are dancing up a storm , Smiling down as the light that you are - and believe me I will be sure to feel your presence and keep you laughing for the rest of my days..I Love you Chase JoshuaCallahan!
Love Ms. Stefanie

Josh, Heidi, Aidan, and Brady

I am so sorry for the passing of your son and brother. Chase was far too young.

Chase could not have had more loving parents or been part of better group of brothers.

My condolences and may Chase rest in peace.
