I will forever be grateful for my years of teaching Chase In my class as well as the millions of hallway and school encounters we would share after. Having to pivot to remote learning during covid, I quite often got to join in the Callhan family antics VIA Chases iPad. I would Talk to Chase about his topics of interest, ( His brothers and family, dogs, school friends, the rumba vacuum he loved to watch attack his dogs) play the fun versions of his wide music selections , read him Pete the cat books ,and just say and do whatever it took to see that huge infectious smile and hear the incredible yelps of laughter .Once back in school ... It was always so amazing to see Chase enjoy so many things about his school day. It´s been said that he was known as the mayor of Carman Road School - and he honestly was! With so many people stopping to talk and interact with him- all with a different song to sing or a special jokes for him to make him happy and laugh - but also , Selfishly so many of us search for that deep in your soul satisfaction that no matter what level of pain or discomfort he would have at times- he would always find the joy in that moment and take the time to soak it in. He gave us more than we could have ever given to him.
During the remote learning days, Heidi shared that Chase hated when we said goodbye to him and would always get upset. He hated the fun to end, even if it was just talking over an iPad. I would always say something silly to make him laugh like" ok Chase- Guacamole!"
And would leave him happy. When someone is that impactful, it is never really goodbye....So again Chase, I won´t say goodbye to you- only "Guacamole" . I like to think that your pain is gone, and you are free from your chair and orthotics and are dancing up a storm , Smiling down as the light that you are - and believe me I will be sure to feel your presence and keep you laughing for the rest of my days..I Love you Chase JoshuaCallahan!
Love Ms. Stefanie

Josh, Heidi, Aidan, and Brady
I am so sorry for the passing of your son and brother. Chase was far too young.
Chase could not have had more loving parents or been part of better group of brothers.
My condolences and may Chase rest in peace.
