CONTINENTAL – Alice M. Rippetoe, 90, of Continental, passed away at 1:25 a.m., Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Meadows of Kalida. She was born December 31, 1932 in Dupont to the late Andrew and Mabel (Etter) Swicker. On April 10, 1954, she married James E. Rippetoe, who preceded her in death on April 14, 2001.
Survivors include five children: Doyle (Alice) Rippetoe of Altamonte Springs, FL, Michael Rippetoe of Oakwood, William (Kathy) Rippetoe, Mark (Lisa) Rippetoe both of Continental, Amy (Gene Jr.) Worline of Grove City, PA; 10 grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and one sister, Mary McClure of Lima; and mother-in-law, Pauline Herd of Continental.
She was also preceded in death by one son, James D. Rippetoe; one daughter-in-law, Diane Rippetoe; three siblings: Emma (Bill) Harruf, Martha (Leonard) Lowe and Tom (Kaye) Swicker; and one brother-in-law, Don McClure.
Alice was a graduate of St. Rose Catholic School, Lima. She retired from Zeller Corporation, formerly of Defiance. Alice was a member of Auglaize Chapel Church of God, Oakwood, where she was very active in several activities in her younger years. One of Alice's favorite pastimes was crocheting.
Funeral services for Alice will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, 2023 at Heitmeyer Funeral Home, Oakwood with Rev. Stan Harmon officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Dupont. A visitation will be held from 5 – 7 p.m. on Wednesday and again from 9 – 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home.
Memorial donations may be made to Camp Meeting of the Church of God, Payne, Ohio.
