ANDREW MAAG
COLUMBUS GROVE — Andrew Joseph Maag, age 49, died Wednesday June 11, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family. He was born on October 19, 1964, in Lima, Ohio, to Leroy A. and Karen A. (Raymond) Maag, who survive in Columbus Grove.
On October 1, 1994, he married Tamara Sue Warnecke, and she survives in Columbus Grove.
Mr. Maag was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1983. During High School and one year after, he worked at the former Kohls Market, Columbus Grove. He was then employed by Philips ECG, Ottawa, for 17 years. He was a former member of the Eagles, Arie #2234, Ottawa. Andy was proud to be a stay at home Dad, who loved to spend time with his sons, Tucker and Levi, throwing the football and playing basketball. He also enjoyed helping his mom and dad with the "neighborhood chores." Andy was a huge Harley Davidson fan, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, shooting, cross word puzzles and playing euchre with his brothers and dad. Andy was a patriot of sorts, in that he was a lover of American History. He had a deep interest and respect of the nations' wars, service personnel, artifacts and the special personal notes, letters and stories of the individuals that were part of this History.
He is survived by his two sons, Tucker A. and Levi A. Maag both still at home. Three brothers: Mark A. (Linda) Maag, of Columbus Grove, Ohio, Timothy L. (Mary Jo) Maag, of Ottoville, Ohio, and Christopher L. (Barbara) Maag, of Columbus Grove, Ohio. His mother in-law, Theresa M. Stangel of Botkins, Ohio; father in-law Thomas L. Warnecke, of Kalida, Ohio; brother in-law, Theodore T. Warnecke of Arcanum, Ohio; 10 Nieces and Nephews, and one Great Niece.
Friends may call on Friday, June 13, 2014, from 2:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 14, 2014, with one hour of visitation prior to the services. Pastor James Klausing will officiate.
Memorial Contributions may be made to Tucker and Levi's Education Fund in care of "The Boy's Memorial Fund", at any Union Bank.
