ARTHUR MARKWARD
LIMA — Arthur Leo Markward, 84, died peacefully at 2:18 PM on Sunday, June 19, 2016, at his residence in Lima, Ohio, surrounded by his wife and daughters.
Arthur was born on March 1, 1932, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late Alphonse Markward and Rosa (Klima) Markward. On October 24, 1964, he married Barbara (Alguire) Markward, whom survives in Lima.
He was a 1951 graduate of Delphos St. John's and attended Northwestern Business College (currently UNOH). He retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years. He loved to do gardening, fishing, spending time outdoors, spending time with the grandchildren and bird watching.
He is survived by a daughter, Angela Markward (Timothy) Sarna, of Delaware, OH, a daughter Arin Markward (Matt) Burton, of Elida, OH; five grandchildren - Alexandria, Andrew, Aidan, Hayes and Griffin; and a sister Beatrice (Markward) Dray of Fremont, Ohio.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Amy Lynn Markward and three brothers & four sisters.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Memorial service will begin at 4:00 PM on Friday, June 24, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH.
In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to National Reye's Syndrome Foundation, 426 N. Lewis St. P.O. Box 829, Bryan, Ohio 43506 or to the family.

Dear Barb, Angie and Arin,
Very sorry for the loss of your husband/Dad. Art was always fun to be around and it was obvious that he loved his family and friends.
