LIMA -- Barbara C. Schroeder, 85, of Lima passed away at 6:06 AM on Thursday, July 28, 2022 at her daughter's residence. She was born on December 17, 1936 in Allen County to Kenneth and Evelyn (Ditto) Hallard, who both preceded her in death.
Barbara was an accomplished artist, who was a member of Artspace/Lima and often displayed her art in their gallery. She was a member/officer of TOPPS for many years. She enjoyed shopping, collecting angels, participating in craft shows, flower gardening and traveling to the Outer Banks with her friends. She loved her Yorkie, Josie, Fat Jacks Pizza and scratch-off lottery tickets. She enjoyed meeting people and most of them became part of her family. But most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren and watching their sporting events.
Surviving are her daughters Dawn (Mike) Iiames and Joy White, both of Lima; her grandchildren Terra Beachy, Jenna (Luke) Nolte-Hefner, Chelsea (Ethan) Bowers, Michelle Iiames, Brad (Frances) White, Ryan White and Jessica (James) Doyle; her great-grandchildren Annika, Hayden, Madalynn, Reese, Charleigh, Clayton, Cooper, Cutler, David, Janey, Chase, Embrie, JoJo, Maximus and Madison; her brother Larry (Jeanine) Hallard of Spencerville. Also surviving are her neighbors Debbie, Linda, Mike and Andy, who took good care of her and allowed her to stay in her home as long as she did.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Evelyn (Ditto) Hallard; her husband Ralph Bird; her son Jerry Bird.
Funeral Services will be at 6:00 PM on Friday, August 5, 2022 at Resurrection Church of Northwest Ohio, 125 S. McDonel St., Lima, where friends will be received for on hour prior to the service at the church. Pastor Garrett Myers will officiate the service.
