Brady Zalar

2003 - 2022

DELPHOS – Brady Zalar, 19, of Delphos, passed away Monday evening, November 7, 2022 at his home.

He was born April 24, 2003, in Van Wert to Dave Zalar and Amy (Scott Schimmoeller) Zalar who survive in Delphos.

Brady is also survived by a sister, Sara (Lyndon Roof) Zalar of Delphos; aunts and uncles, Mike Ricker of Delphos, Keith and Julia Kleman of Venedocia, Mark Ricker of Ottoville, Wayne and Kathy Risner of Grover Hill, Butch and Laurie Johnson of Paulding, Mike and Marggy Pavel of Van Wert, Dee Jewell of Van Wert, Chuck and Elaine Metcalfe of Delphos, John and Malinda Falkner of Van Wert, Mike and Donna Zalar of Olmsted Township, Terri and Steve Schmiedebusch of Ottawa, Mary Ann Bailey of Delphos, Beth and Dave Justus of Huron and John and Cindy Zalar of Gulf Breeze, FL; and many cousins.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ed and Norma Zalar and Richard and Janet Brown.

Brady was a 2022 graduate of Delphos St. John's where he played football and baseball. He attended Vantage Career Center, majoring in heavy equipment technology. He was a member of the Future Business Leaders of America at St. John's and won second place in the state of Ohio for entrepreneurship and went on to compete at the national competition in Texas. After graduating he went to work at Bungee North America in Delphos. Brady was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church where he was a eucharistic minister. His faith was a strong part of his life, he carried a Bible and prayed often.

Brady enjoyed playing basketball at the park with friends, listening to music, lifting weights and frisbee golf. He loved taking in animals, especially stray cats that we disagreed with, and loved caring for his pet gecko.

A Funeral Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, November 11, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Rev. Tony Vera officiating. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Thursday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Vantage Career Center. Online condolences may be shared at weberfh.net
