CARL KOHLER

LIMA — Carl E. Kohler, 75, passed away February 22, 2014, at 11:55 pm, Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center in the comfort of hospice surrounded by family.

Carl was born April 24, 1938 in Wapakoneta, OH, to Leo and Margaret (Schneider) Kohler who preceded him in death. On May 25, 1963 he married Carolyn (Wade) Kohler who survives in Lima, OH.

Carl was a member of St. Gerard's Catholic Church. In 2005 he retired from Crown Equipment. Carl is a U.S. Army veteran and was stationed in Nurnberg, Germany in the 1950's. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeye and Cleveland Indians fan. He enjoyed gardening and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and he will be deeply missed.

Survivors include: 3 Daughters, Joanna Kohler, Julie (Steven) Gamary, Patricia (Adam) Masek, 5 Grandchildren, Mackenzie Gamary, Alexa Gamary, Carter Gamary, Abbey Masek, Riley Masek, Great Granddaughter. 2 Sisters, Joan (Robert) Jennings, Pauline (Bernard) Gerard, 3 Brothers, Franklin (Ruth) Kohler, Raymond (Susan) Kohler, Robert (LaDonna) Kohler, Many Nieces and Nephews.

Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, February 27, 2014 at 10:00 am at St. Gerard's Catholic Church. Father Jim Szobonya to officiate the service. Entombment at Gethsemani Cemetery following the service. Military rites will be done by VFW Post 1275.

Friends may call Wednesday, February 26, 2014 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Chiles Laman Funeral and Cremation Services Shawnee Chapel.

In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Community Health Professionals Inpatient Hospice Center. 1155 Westwood Dr. Van Wert, OH 45891.
