DELPHOS -- Chad Andrew Weber, 68, of Delphos, passed away at noon on Monday, May 19, 2025 with his loving family at his side.
He was born January 21, 1957 in Lima to Eugene L. and Rose L. (Hohenbrink) Weber, who both preceded him in death. On October 10, 1986, he married Jean (Kramer) Weber who survives in Delphos.
Chad is also survived by two daughters, Kayla (Curt) Hageman of Delphos, and Kelsie (Robert) Boyd of Fort Wayne, Indiana; 4 grandchildren, Lila and Aiden Hageman, and Cooper and Halle Boyd; three brothers, Sidney (Kathy) Weber of Delphos, Ned Weber of Springfield, Dr. Kim (Jerilyn) Weber of Springfield; three sisters, Trude (Jeff) Menke of Ottoville, Katrina (Doug) Noonan of Hamilton, and Wendy (Dennis 'Grubb') Grothause of Wapak; a brother-in-law, Bob Scherger of Wapak; and many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was also preceded in death by a sister, Polly Scherger; an infant brother, Guy Weber; and sister-in-law, Susan Weber.
Chad was a 1975 graduate of Delphos St. John's High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy from 1976-1980. He retired in 2019 from St. John's Church after working there 21 years in maintenance. Chad was a member of Delphos St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, St. John's Athletic Boosters, and Eagles Aerie 471.
Chad was an avid sports lover; his favorite teams being St. John's Blue Jays, The Ohio State Buckeyes, Cincinnati Reds and "San Diego" Chargers. He spent numerous years coaching the youth of Delphos, including 19 years for the Blues Pony League baseball team. In his free time, Chad also enjoyed golfing at the Delphos Country Club. But most of all, Chad enjoyed watching his grandkids play.
As Chad would have wanted, please feel free to dress casually for his celebrations, maybe even your favorite Hawaiian shirt.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 24 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with graveside military honors conducted by Delphos Veterans Council.
Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos, where a Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:45 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Athletic Boosters, Delphos Parks, Inc., or the Polly Scherger Servant Leadership Tuition Assistance Endowment Fund.
