LIMA -- Charles D. Armour Jr., 81, passed away on September 27, 2025, after a long, courageous struggle with cancer.
Charles was born to Charles B., Sr. and Josephine (Annis) Armour, both of whom preceded him in death.
Chuck graduated from Lima Senior High School in 1962, and he went on to further his education at Bowling Green University. After graduation, he sold Encyclopedia Brittanicas until he enlisted in the United States Air Force. Chuck proudly served for four years and was honorably discharged. He moved to Virginia in 1973 where he was self-employed as a contractor and a commercial painter. Chuck was an avid and talented golfer, and he played frequently as a member of the Shawnee Country Club. He enjoyed most sports, his favorite being football. Chuck was an excellent billiard player, and he delighted in going to the casinos later in life. Most of all, Chuck will be remembered for his great intelligence, kindness, and his mannerly and generous spirit.
He is survived by his son, Shane (Traci); grandchildren, Aiden, Lauren, and Noah; daughter, Tania; siblings, Nancy J. Armour and Phillip (Kathy) Dixon; and his sister-in-law, Nancy E. Armour.
In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his partner of 23 years, Grace McGrath; Grace's mother, Margo Victoria "Vikki" McGrath; brother, Keith R. Armour and his second mother, Mabel Armour.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at St. Gerard Catholic Church with Father Mike Sergi to officiate. Burial will follow in Gethsemani Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the church. Immediately following the visitation and preceding Mass will be a Rosary Service.
