SPENCERVILLE -- Charles Anderson Dille III, 81, of rural Spencerville, passed away at 5:47 PM Friday, February 11, 2022 at the Otterbein Rehabilitation Facility in St. Marys following an extended illness.
He was born January 26, 1941 in Cincinnati, the son of the late Dr. Charles A. and Evelyn E. (Fitzwater) Dille. On May 24, 1964, he married the late Eva Charlene Dille (Sandkuhl). Charles is survived by three children; Charles A. (Teresa) Dille IV of Waynesville, OH., Karen S. Dille of Spencerville and Christopher A. (Jessica) Dille of Fort Mitchell, KY.; four grandchildren, Samuel C. Dille of Boston, MA., Kristen S. Dille of Waynesville OH, Colin A. Dille and Cameron R. Dille, both of Fort Mitchell, KY; and six siblings Carol, Patricia, Kathleen, Michael, John, and James. Preceding him in death is his sister, Susan.
Charles was a 1959 graduate of Bellbrook High School and graduated Wilmington College. He was an educator for 26 years teaching carpentry/Industrial Arts at Bellbrook, Spencerville, Shawnee, Apollo Vocational, and Waynesfield-Goshen. He worked as a plumber/electrician for a couple years when he had concluded teaching. He spent many summers working on his parent's farm in Dayton prior to their deaths.
He was a member of the Sons of the American Revolution and a former member of Trinity UMC in Lima. He loved working around his house and helping his children with projects they had at their homes. He also loved being with his family and the multiple dogs and cats he had over the years.
The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 PM Friday, February 25, 2022 and after 9:30 AM Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville. Funeral Service to be held at 11am Saturday, February 26, 2022 at Thomas E. Bayliff Funeral Home in Spencerville.
