LIMA -- Charles Finkenbine Jr., (100), passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at 1:11 a.m.
Charles was born on February 12, 1925, in Anna, Ohio, to Charles Julius and Alvena (Woehrle) Finkenbine. On June 22, 1977, he married his beloved Patricia Mary (Arango) Finkenbine, who survives in Lima.
Charles served in the US Air Force during World War II and retired as a Major after 40 years in the USAF Reserves. He was the Chief Pilot, Director of Operations, and eventually the General Manager for Ross Aviation, a contractor for the Dept. of Energy. He was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children: Darla Finkenbine of Wapakoneta, Diane Seech of New Port Ritchie, FL, Laura (Jimmy) Honeycutt of Cincinnati, Charles D. Finkenbine of O'Fallon, MO, John Finkenbine of Wapakoneta, and Linda (Michael) Hale of Dixon, NM; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and sister Martha Zimpfer of Jacksonville, FL.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Thomas Kaufmann; son-in-law, William Seech; brothers, Paul Finkenbine and Walter Finkenbine; sisters: Kathryn Fogt, Margaret Snider, Ruth Cooper, Mary Wright, and Marie Finkenbine.
The memorial service will begin at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lima, OH. Rev. Michael Phillips will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. in Pearl Cemetery, Sidney, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, Lima OH or to Tunnel to Towers Foundation @ https://dogood.t2t.org.
