BLUFFTON — Dale L. Huber, age 94, died at home with family on November 12, 2021.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1926 in the original Huber Homestead Farm house to Russell and Josephine (Niswander) Huber, who preceded him in death. Dale married the love of his life, Etta Jo Maynard on Jan. 21, 1951 and she preceded him in death on Feb.5, 2016.
Dale graduated from Bluffton High School in 1944 and the College of Agriculture at The Ohio State University in 1950.
His U.S. Army life was the 67th Bomb Disposal Squad in Lambach, Austria.
He was a lifelong farmer and enjoyed raising his family on the Huber Homestead Farm. Dale operated the family business, Speciality Foods of Ohio with his wife, before retiring in 1991.
Dale enjoyed traveling, especially four trips to Europe.
He was a member of the Rockport United Methodist Church, Mended Hearts, Bluffton Senior Citizens, Gideons International, Bluffton American Legion Post #382, where he was a consecutive member for 75 years. He was also a member of the Farm Bureau Council and the Bluffton Men's Garden Club.
Dale had great faith in the Lord and expressed his faith by serving others.
He was a devoted husband, father and papa. He is remembered as a loving, caring and generous man who had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life immensely.
Dale is survived by his children: Susan Diaz, Larry (Judy) Huber and David Huber of Bluffton, Lori Leftenant of Lima, and Jack Huber of Troy.
Dale was preceded in death by his son, Terry (Cheryl) Huber in 2020. He was also preceded in death by an older brother, C. Berdell Huber and sister-in-law, Margie Huber.
He is also survived by his seventeen grandchildren: Nicholas (Trisha) Gatchel, Nathan Gatchel, Jonathon (Amy) Huber, Laura (Drew) Plaugher, Melissa (Ken) Flick, Melanie (Edward) Phillips, Melinda (Brian) Clymer, Joshua (Crystal) Huber, Daphinie (Dan) Sass, Amanda (Devin) Shobe, Joliffe Huber, Josephine Huber, Alyn Michael Begley, Kyle Huber, Timothy Huber, Daniel Huber and Lydia Huber; twenty-nine great grandchildren; and thirteen nieces and nephews.
We will celebrate his life on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 11:00 AM at the Ebenezer Mennonite Church, 8905 Columbus Grove-Bluffton Road, Bluffton, Ohio 45817 with Pastor Tom Holmes officiating.
Military Honors will be conducted by the U. S. Army Honor Guard and the American Legion Post #382 Honor Guard. It was Dale's wish to be cremated following services.
Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Wednesday, November 17, 2021 at Hanson-Neely-Allison Funeral & Cremation Services, Ada and one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Gideons International.

Prayers for you Lori/Tim and your family with losing Dale. It was a joy to know Dale and assist with his Hospice care. He was a precious individual. My last visit he sang one of his "diddy's"---The Old Grey Mare. Ending with his laugh and twinkle in his eye.

Didn't know Dale well, actually only met him once at Walt and Shari's wedding last year, but know from his family's love and admiration of him that he was a good man.
