DANIEL MULLANE
LIMA — Daniel J. Mullane, 96, died at 4:30 PM on Monday, October 13, 2014, at Springview Manor Nursing Home in Lima, Ohio.
Daniel was born on February 6, 1918, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Daniel J. Mullane and the late Susan (McCarn) Mullane.
Daniel married Helen Remenapp on May 9, 1942. She preceded him in death on May 2, 1999. He was a member of St. Gerards Catholic Church, Lima Eagles Aerie # 370 and Lima Elks Lodge #54. He enjoyed golf, skiing and playing pool. He skied until his 80's, golfed into his 90's and continued playing pool until recently. He had four holes in one, of which one of them won him a car. After retiring from Ford Motor Company with 40 years, he was an instructor at the Lima Technical College. He had a love for photography, also enjoyed bowling, going to the movies and riding a motorcycle.
He is survived by: a daughter, Susan (James) Robinson, of San Antonio, TX; two sons. Daniel (Carmen) Mullane III, of Lima, OH and David Mullane, of Lima, OH; five grandchildren, Todd (Michelle) Robinson, Kelly (Ivan) Miller, Jill Robinson, Christine Stauffer, Greg (Heather Donley) Mullane; twelve great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; a brother, Robert Mullane; several nieces & nephews.
He was preceded in death by: a daughter-in-law, Susan Mullane; and a sister, Doris Anderson.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 16, 2014 and a Wake service will follow at 8:00 P.M.at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 17, 2014 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, OH. Father Jim Szobonya will officiate.
Entombment will be in Gethsemani Cemetery Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ford-UAW Ramp Crew, UAW Hall, 1269 Bellefontaine Ave., lima, Ohio 45804.
