DANIEL NIMS
KENTON — Daniel J. Nims, 73, died at 4:01 PM on Saturday, September 26, 2015, at daughter's residence in Kenton.
Daniel was born on September 21, 1942, in Tiffin, Ohio, to the late John Nims and Edith (Weber) Nims.
Daniel married Karen Prine on March 4, 1963. She survives in Kenton. He had retired from Lima Ford Plant. He had previously worked at the Allen County Sheriff's Department. He loved fishing, and going to Florida in the winter and visiting their cabin in Michigan in the summer. He loved listening to Blue Grass music and loved his family and his granddoggies.
He is survived by two daughter, Christine (Terry) Wireman, of Kenton, OH, Rebecca (Richard) Whitaker, four grandchildren, Jason (Janelle) Wireman, Kara (Grant) Ramsey, Morgan (Hayden) Ellis, and Allison (Bobby Hoffman) Whitaker, four great grandchildren, Kaelyn Saylor, Jemma Wireman, Wyatt Ellis, and Josie Wireman, two bothers, Tom (Sharon) Nims, and Steve (Becky) Nims.
He was preceded in death by a son, Daniel John Nims, Jr. and a daughter, Debora Kay Nims
The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM on Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, OH. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Lima, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 740 Commerce Drive, Suite B, Perrysburg, Ohio 43551.
