LIMA -- David K. Gilles age 80, of Lima passed away 1:44 a.m., Tuesday at St.
Rita's. He was born Feb. 12, 1943 in Lima to the late George Anthony and L. Lucille Rose (Welter) Gilles. He married Linda L. Selby April 14, 1990 and she preceded him in death Nov. 30, 2019.
David enjoyed boating, fishing and supporting his grandchildren in their sports. He was an Ohio State Fan and a Cleveland Indians fan.
Survivors include children Matt (Teri) Gilles of Lima, Heather (Tim) Holly of Lima and stepchildren: Steve Richardson of Lima, Ken (Kelly) Richardson of Knoxville, TN and Laura (Greg) Smith of Knoxville, TN; 10 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren; siblings: Carol Gillotti of Dayton, Judy Nussbaum of Kalida, Kathy (Joe Degens) Gilles of St. Clair Shores, MI and Greg (Diane) Gilles of Delphos and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his favorite companions Trucker and Jake and brothers-in-law Fred Gillotti and Jim Nussbaum.
Family will receive friends 10 to 12 at St. Rose Catholic Church Wednesday, June 21 with Father David Ross officiating the mass at noon.
Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with military rites being provided by V. F. W. Post 1275. Live streaming is available at stroselimaohio.org.
