DALLAS TEXAS — David Richard Schimpf, 66, died the morning of July 31, 2021 at VITAS Hospice Memorial Hospital, Dallas Texas after a three-year battle with cancer.
He was born February 2, 1955 in Lima, Ohio to Paul F. and Dolores M (Ohr) Schimpf Jr., both now deceased.
He attended St. Rose Catholic Church and School and was a 1973 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School in Lima, Ohio. He worked at Clark Equipment Co. and Superior Coach Corp. in Lima, Ohio before relocating to the Dallas area in the late 1970's. In Dallas, he worked for 7-Eleven, then for many years for Fource Communications. He was a member of Hope Irving Church, Irving, Texas. He enjoyed golfing and playing cards with family and friends and in recent years he had volunteered serving meals to the needy at Hope Church.
Surviving are a brother, Thomas and Terry Schimpf of North Richland Hills, Texas and four sisters, Paula and Rob Richardson of Spencerville, Ohio, Gail and William Lewis of Westerville, Ohio, Barbara and Robert Gupton of McKinney, Texas and Christina and John Stevens of Grove City, Ohio, along with 12 nieces and nephews and 10 great-nieces and great- nephews, and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
A memorial prayer service is planned for Sunday, September 12, 2021, following the 11 a.m. Mass at St. Rose Catholic Church. The Rev. David Ross officiating. Interment is planned for a later date.
