LIMA -- Dennis D. "Denny" Coleman, 77 of Lima, passed away June 1, 2025 at his home. Denny was born July 6, 1947 in Lima to Richard and Ruth (Lytle) Coleman, who preceded him in death. On October 21, 1978, he married Sharon (Kinstle) Coleman, who survives him in Lima.
Denny was a 1965 graduate of Bath High School and a United States Army Veteran who served during the Vietnam Conflict. He worked as an Allen County Deputy Sheriff for several years and went on to become the owner and operator of Tidy Car. He worked at the Ohio Department of Agriculture helping to organize the removal of the Ash Borer Beetles and the Gypsy Moths. Denny finished his career as the Maintenance Supervisor at Alloway Environmental. He was an avid Ohio State Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds fan and he enjoyed golfing and playing chess. Whether it was working on his landscaping, making bird houses, being involved in his son's Boy Scout Troop or just sitting on his patio, Denny loved being outside. He enjoyed dancing, working on cars and, at one time, riding his Harley. Denny had a sense of duty to others and he would do anything for anyone.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his son, Cory Coleman; siblings, Ron (Clarice) Coleman, Phil (Carolyn) Coleman and Deb (Mike) Brandehoff; sisters-in-law, Marilyn (Jerry) Warren, Karen (Mel) Southerly, Kathy (Bill) Johnson, Jaime (Bruce) Brennake and Sue (Tim) Nocera and 20 nieces and nephews.

What a wonderful guy, with whom I had many a lively conversation on Fridays at the K of C. I always enjoyed seeing Denny and Sharon come in during my Friday night bar shifts. Sharon, I am so very sorry for your loss. It´s my belief we´ll see all who mattered the most to us when we leave this mortal coil. Prayers and deepest condolences...
