Donald Plank Obituary
ELIDA — On September 22, 2021, Donald Wayne Plank, 93, departed this earthly life to be with Jesus Christ, his Savior.
Don was born on July 10, 1928, in Logan County near West Liberty, Ohio. He was the fifth son of the late Ira and Laura (Kanagy) Plank.
On August 16, 1951, he was united in marriage to Doris Good, who preceded him in death on January 27, 1987.
Don and Doris were parents of three surviving children: Donna of Dayton, VA, David (Marjorie Stemen) of Durbin, WV, and Diane (Daniel Freed) of Fort Wayne, IN. They were also grandparents of six surviving grandchildren: Elizabeth, Laura, Karl, Andrew, and Nathan Plank of WV and Jefferson Freed (Charlotte Nissley) of Rustburg, VA.
In addition to his parents and first wife, Don was preceded in death by five brothers, Robert, Floyd, Oren, Roy, and Dwight.
On June 3, 1989, Don was united in marriage to Norma Brenneman Hartman, who survives. Don enjoyed being "Papa Don" to Norma's six adult children and her many grand-children and great-grand-children.
He was a member of New Covenant Mennonite Church, Elida, OH.
The funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 28, 2021, at Hocking Hills Mennonite Church, 14865 SR 595, Logan, OH, 43138, with interment following in the Carbon Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Harter & Schier Funeral Home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Christian Aid Ministries or Every Home for Christ.
