DWIGHT HARNER
ST. MARYS — Dwight "Jack" Harner, Jr., 78, of 1110 Motz Sreet in St. Marys, OH died 3:10 p.m. Tuesday April 18, 2017 at JTDM Hospital in St. Marys. He was born July 13, 1938 in St. Marys, OH to Dwight "Jack" and Ruth (Hennie) Harner, Sr. He was first married to Cynthia Arnold on January 25, 1958 and she died January 31, 2007. On September 8, 2012 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in St. Marys, OH he married Margaret "Maggie" R. Hart, who survives.
Also survived by: son Dwight (Kymbir Evans) Harner III of St.Marys, OH, son Drew Harner of St.Marys, OH, daughter April (Kevin) Hoel of St.Marys, OH, daughter Angela (Mike) Jaeger of Celina, OH, step-daughter Jeanne (Jim) Klopfenstein of St. Marys, OH, step-son Steve (Jennifer) Ginter of St. Marys, OH, step-daughter Marcy (Derek) Wyldes of Strongsville, OH, 16 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren, sister Jill Shepler of Kendallville, IN, sister-in-law Gloria Harner of Mendon, OH.
Preceded in death by: parents Dwight "Jack" and Ruth Harner; first wife Cynthia (Arnold) Harner; brother Joe Harner
He was a graduate of St. Marys Memorial High School and proudly served his country in the United States Navy.
Jack retired from Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co. in St. Marys, where he was a supervisor in the engineering department.
An accomplished guitar player, he was a member of several bands, including "Roscoe and His Little Green Men", "The Originals" and "J.C. & Co."
Rites are scheduled to begin 9:30 a.m. Saturday April 22, 2017 at Miller – Long & Folk Funeral Home (314 W. High Street Chapel) in St. Marys, with the Rev. Barry Stechschulte, officiating.
Burial, with graveside military honors, will follow at Elm Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys.
Visitation 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home on High Street.
