LIMA -- Ertice Riddell Litton, 74 of Lima formerly of Mississippi, passed peacefully at home with his family at 4:07pm on Friday August 22, 2025.
He was born in Litton, MS on March 18,1951 to the late Margaret Tarver & William Wesley Litton.
Being married March 8, 1984: He is survived by his wife, best friend & cohort of 41 years Jennifer Munford Litton.
Ertice retired his Global Engineering career after 45 dedicated years to the Flour (Daniel) Corporation.
His career started at a ground entry level position he soon accelerated.
Being in high demand nationwide and beyond, he paved the way for many others helping to advance their careers through personal mentorship, his example, his drive, and his apparent passion for a job well done.
He simply loved life outdoors. Be it hunting, fishing, riding his tractor, 4-wheeler or Harley, Ertice found joy in the fresh air, the open road, fields and the woods. He was just as content at home mowing his yard as watching & feeding his birds, or capturing the beauty of nature through his camera lens.
Ertice will be remembered not only for the way he led, inspired and disciplined himself & others to strive to work hard and to accelerate, but for his love of GODs creation, the simple pleasures, his strength, his smiles in the midst of long suffering, and the fact that he loved life.
Also surviving are Ertice's 4 children – April Starr (Victor) Wall of Port Charlotte, FL; Tuesdi Dawn DeBra of Newnan, GA; Wendy Eve (Kevin) Slocum of Jackson, GA; Ertice Riddell 'EJ' Litton of Columbus, OH; His 9 grandchildren – Michael (Kelsey) Odom; Lance DeBra; Teri (Zac) Bailey:n Taylor Bush; Alana Neil; Seth Haas; Sydney (Cameron) Phillips; Christopher Neil; and Victoria Wall.
His 12.5 great grandchildren; a sister – Sue (David) Sullivan of Benoit, MS; a brother –James (Gerda) Litton of Litton, MS; sister-in-law - Celeste Litton Malatesta of Cleveland MS; numerous beloved cousins, nieces, and nephews; and his 'BigDog' – JoJo.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents – H. C. 'Joe' & Bertie Tarver; Henry and Susie Litton; 2 brothers – Joe Mitchie Litton, Clyde McClain; a sister – Paula Litton.
A celebration of life will begin 3:00 p.m., Monday, August 25, 2025 at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville. Charlotte Hefner will officiate.
The family will receive friends from 2:00–3:00 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home. After the celebration, everyone is welcome to stay and share laughter and memories with the family.
Memorial contributions may be made to Saint Rita's Hospice of Lima, Ohio or the American Cancer Society.
