DELPHOS -- Gerald L. "Jerry" Fisher, 66, of Delphos, passed away 9: 59 a.m. Friday morning, January 28, 2022 at his residence. He was born July 2, 1955, in Lima, to the late George and Margie (Dickman) Fisher. On June 29, 1979, he married Deborah Grothouse and she passed away on September 11, 2013.
Jerry is survived by a son, Jared (Brittany Snyder) Fisher of Delphos; a brother, Mike (Kim) Fisher of Delphos; and sisters, Carol (Tim) Short and Judy Gedeon both of Delphos and Bev (Jim) Wittkamp of Lima. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Margie.
In Jerry's early life he was employed at the Fruehauf Corp. He retired as a Cutter Grinder at the Dana Corp. in 2006 after 30 years of service. Jerry enjoyed his hobby of Gun and Knife Collecting. He loved to fish and hunt, and he enjoyed helping his wife's uncle, John Nomina, with the family farming.
Jerry was a good cook, he just didn't know how to cook for only one or two people! He enjoyed playing with and caring for his dog, Tyson and his cats, they were his pride and joy. Early on in his life he could be found doing landscaping and detailing his cars.
Jerry was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, the Delphos Knights of Columbus #1362 and the Tri-State Gun Collectors Club.
Calling hours will be Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service Wednesday. A funeral service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth Street Delphos, Ohio. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
