Gregory Shuey Obituary

HARROD -- Gregory "Greg" Nelson Shuey, 72 of Harrod, passed away December 7, 2025, at his home. Greg was born March 15, 1953, in Lima, to Paul and Irene (Young) Shuey, who preceded him in death.

Greg was a 1971 graduate of Perry High School and the proud owner and operator of Greg Shuey Backhoe and Dump Trucking, Inc. He was an incredibly hard worker; he took much pride in his work and his operating skills with a backhoe. Greg loved raising horses and watching his nieces show them. He enjoyed traveling to Florida and going out to eat with his friends on Friday night. Greg was a wonderful cook, and it brought him much joy to cook for his family and friends, especially on holidays and weekly Wednesday night dinners. He didn't know a stranger, and he was always willing to help and give to those around.

Most of all, Greg loved his family. They held a special place in his heart and his favorite place to be was by their side. He loved his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces, and spoiling them made him so happy. Greg had a kind, loving heart and he will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Greg is survived by his partner of 52 years and intricate part of the family, Deb Hubbell; siblings, Mary Burden, Tom Shuey, Mike Shuey, Rhonda (Charlie) Ford and Bonnie Hanes and many loved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and great-great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Franklin.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, December 12, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Eastside Chapel with Rev. Lori Wright to officiate the service. Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00PM on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to The Equestrian Therapy Program, 22532 Bowsher Road, Cridersville, OH 45806.
