Douglas D. Shuey

Douglas D. Shuey, 83, of Bellefonte, passed away on Thursday, December 25, 2025. Born on September 7, 1942, in Zion, PA, he was the son of the late Wilbur and Bernice (Gardner) Shuey.

Douglas attended Bellefonte Area High School. He served his country in the United States Army. Upon returning home from the service, he was self employed as the owner/operator of Penn Auto Upholstery and then Penn Auto Sales in Pleasant Gap for over 40 years until his retirement.

He is survived by his son, Brian Shuey, one grandchild, and his beloved black cat, Spook. Also surviving is a sister, Vicki Shuey, of Bellefonte, who cared for Douglas when he needed it, and a brother, Willis Shuey, and his wife, Janene of Colorado.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his siblings, Edward Shuey, Marlin "Jack" Shuey, Donna J. Miller, and Donald J. Shuey.

Douglas was a 50-year-old member of the Elks Lodge in Bellefonte.

Funeral and burial services will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Arrangements are under the direction of Wetzler Funeral Service, Inc. in Bellefonte.
