PANDORA -- Janet E. Mayotte, age 88, of Pandora passed away Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at Lima Memorial. She was born September 23, 1937, in Lima to the late Harold C. and Sarah May (Strawbridge) Butturff. She married Gary J. Mayotte December 27, 1956 and he preceded her in death May 26, 1999.
Janet had been a homemaker and expert seamstress. She sewed for Artistic Creations making Amish dolls, sheep and Christening bunnies.
She was a Red Hat Lady with the ladies in Pandora and enjoyed doing puzzles with Bits and Pieces. Janet loved children and was a child magnet.
Survivors include daughters: Linda K. (Keith) Samsal of Pandora and Nanette M. Swallow of Michigan; 8 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and 2 sisters-in-laws: Maxine of Waynesfield, Donna Cheryl of Kendalville.
She was preceded in death by a son-in-law David Swallow and 3 brothers: Gerald A., Ralph E. and Roger Butturff.
The family will receive friends from 9:30 to 10:10 a.m., Saturday, January 10, 2025, and the memorial service will follow at Bayliff & Son Funeral Home, Cridersville followed by the burial in Shawnee Cemetery.
A lite luncheon will be held 1:00 p.m. at Janet's home.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and online condolences may be shared at BayliffAndSon.com.
