JOHN ACHESON
ADA — John G. Acheson, age 80, died Sunday, September 21, 2014, at 12:37 AM at Lima Memorial Health System, Lima, Ohio.
He was born on June 3, 1934 in Auglaize County, Ohio to Harold and Verla (Shipp) Acheson who preceded him in death. On September 24, 1955 he married Margaret Crowe and she survives in Ada, Ohio.
John retired from Chicago Bridge and Iron after 30 years as a welder. He was a member of the Lima Masonic Lodge 205 F&AM. He was a 1952 graduate of Roundhead High School. John served in the US Air Force from 1954-1958. He was a member of the Bethel Church of Christ, Ada, Ohio. He loved to play golf, spend time at the Coffee Shop and was an avid sports fan. Most of all John enjoyed being with his family. He was loved much and will be greatly missed.
Surviving are two sons, John Steven (Joyce) Acheson of Belle Center, Ohio; and Jeffrey Alan (Penny) Acheson of Ada, Ohio and a daughter, Kimberly Ann (Randy) Anderson of Bluffton, Ohio; and 11 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a sister, Janet Acheson of Lima, Ohio.
A funeral service will begin at 11 am on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada with Pastor Harrison Underwood officiating. Burial will be in Roundhead Cemetery, Roundhead, Ohio A graveside military service will be conducted by the Ada VFW Post 9381 Honor Guard.
Friends may call 4 to 8 pm on Wednesday, September 24, 2014 and until time of service on Thursday at Hanson-Neely Funeral Home, Ada.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Ada Athletic Boosters and/or Hardin County Hospice.

Oh my goodness! I just spent a special time talking with you two at the Allen County Fair. John was his ornery self. He used to tease me unmercifully as a kid. He was the brother I never had. John will be greatly missed.
