John Breland Obituary

JOHN BRELAND

LIMA — John Adam Breland Sr., age 76, passed away at 9:07 pm Saturday, July 23, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Hospice Care Unit.

John was born November 9, 1939 in Lumberton, MS, to the late George and Mollie (Jones) Breland. His wife, Rosa Mae (Griffin) Breland preceded him in death.

John retired from Waste Management of Lima. He was a member of Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Lima. He loved reading his Bible and going out in the field Ministry. John worked hard his entire life loving and caring for his family.

He was blessed with five children, Shirley Breland, who preceded him in death, John (LeAnne) Breland Jr., of Lima, Timothy (LaVonne) Breland, of Cincinnati, Mollie Breland, of Lima and Dave (Rochelle) Breland, of St. Marys; seven grandchildren, Shemika Breland, C.J. Whisenton Jr., Tiara Breland, John Breland III, Jasmine Breland, Michael Breland and Mekayla Breland and 7 great-grandchildren.

Other survivors include, four sisters, Margaret Ann Breland, Margie Misckill, Bonnie Jean Haffery and Myrtis Young; two brothers, Frank Breland and Jessie Breland and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by four brothers, George Lott, Earlie Breland, Ulis C. Breland and Homer Breland and five sisters, Thelma Fredricks, Bernice Lee, Berdina Austin, Doris Breland and Sally Ann Mills.

Funeral services will begin 11:00 am Wednesday, July 27, 2016 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL, 828 Bellefontaine Ave., Lima, Ohio 45801. Brother Mike Skinner will officiate the service. Burial of cremated remains will be at a later date in Zion Cemetery.

Friends may call from 5:00 - 7:00 pm Tuesday, July 26, at the funeral home.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 703 Bluelick Road, Lima, Ohio 45801.

John was one of the happiest of people I've ever known. He always had a good word and warm smile. He loved Jehovah, God's word of truth, his family, his congregation, and everyone he met.
He, my wife, and I were baptized on the same day 43 years ago in Napoleon, Ohio.
