JOHN STRINGFIELD
LIMA — John C. Stringfield, 78, died at 1:40 PM on Monday, February 22, 2016, at St. Rita's Medical Center, in Lima, Ohio.
John was born on March 13, 1937, in Morgan County, Tennessee, to the late Virgil Stringfield and Armitta (Adams) Stringfield. On Saturday, July 16, 1966, in Oakdale, TN, he married Patricia Ann (Wilson) Stringfield who survives in Lima.
John served in the U.S. Army as a Combat Engineer. He was a Machine Set-up operator at Textron Corp. He was a member of the VFW Post #1275, Lima, Ohio. He belonged to Faith Missionary Baptist Church in Rushmore, Ohio and formerly had belonged to the LaFayette Missionary Baptist Church for 30 years. He enjoyed fishing and hunting with his sons. When he was able he enjoyed standing in the yard and talking with his neighbors.
He is survived by three sons, Ronald Stringfield, Russell (Stephanie) Stringfield and Jeff (Lona) Stringfield, two daughters, LaVonnda (Mike) Palin and Leann (Mike Owens) Stringfield; twelve grandchildren, Amanda, Tony, Abby, Libby, Jennifer, Andrew, Brandon, Britney, Gabriel, Cole, Ella, Lexi; four great grandchildren, Ava, Isabella, Piper and Lilly; two brothers, Virgil (Syble) Stringfield and Maynard (India) Stringfield.
He is preceded in death by a sister, Mary Martha Stringfield and a brother, Allen Stringfield.
The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. on Thursday, February 25, 2016 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio.
A Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 P.M. on Friday, February 26, 2016 at Lafayette Missionary Baptist Church. Pastor Bob Morrison will officiate. Interment will be in Lafayette Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio.

John welcomed me Kimberly Holliday to live in his home 2 times he treated me like I was his child. God has gained a great man in heaven.I'm so sorry for his and his families pain they are most genuinely great people I have ever met.
