JOHN WIMER
LIMA — John Clayton Wimer, Sr., 87, died at 12:26 PM on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at his residence.
John was born on November 1, 1926, in Hillsboro, West Virginia, to the late John Wimer and Lela (Tenny) Wimer. On Tuesday, August 14, 1979, in Lima, Ohio, he married Rita D. Crowe. She preceded him in death on August 6, 2006. Also preceded in death by his first wife Elizabeth J. Wimer.
He was a life member of VFW; American Legion #96; Moose Lodge for over 50 years; American Vets & Eagles #370.
He is survived by: a son, Keith (Mary) Horton; a daughter, Darlene Ray; a daughter, Karen Plumb; a daughter, Laura (Michael) McKinney; a son, John C. Wimer, Jr.; a daughter, Teresa (Jim) Bryan; a son, Maurice Wimer; a daughter, Renelda (Terry) Holloway;a daughter-in-law, Lynnette Horton; nine grandchildren: nineteen great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: a son , James Horton; a daughter, Lavonda "Bonnie" Wimer; six brothers and one sister.
The family will receive friends 5:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home in Lima, Ohio followed by a Loyal Order Of Moose Lodge #
A funeral service will begin at 11:00 A.M. Friday, May 30, 2014 at Chamberlain-Huckeriede Funeral Home.
Interment will be in Lafayette/Jackson Twp. Cemetery, Lafayette, Ohio with a graveside military service conducted by VFW Post 1275.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association/Allen Co. Division, 1313 W. Dorothy Lane, Dayton, OH 45409.
