JONATHAN EDWARDS
SAVANNAH, Geo. — Jonathan Joseph Edwards, 35, died suddenly on Thanksgiving eve. He was born in Ohio and grew up in Washington, Hawaii, Alabama, Germany, and Georgia. He was a graduate of General H.H. Arnold High School, Wiesbaden, Germany, and Georgia Aviation and Technical College, Eastman, Georgia. He was employed by Gulfstream as an Aircraft Technician. One could not meet a more caring person.
He is survived by his parents, Jonathan and Rebecca Edwards, two brothers, Rhys and William, all of Savannah. His sister, Rachel, resides with her husband Jason and son Rhys in Fleetwood, NC. Aunts uncles, and cousins include the Edwards family of Wapakoneta, OH, Charles, Carolyn, Laura, and Katie, Thomas and Phyllis Edwards of Clermont, FL, the Eicholt family of Ottoville, OH, Terry, Stacy, Erik, and Tony, Linda and Michael Doherty of Chester, MD, Christopher Edwards of Arlington, VA, James Edwards of King of Prussia, PA, Saundra Wannemacher, of Taylor, SC, the Coe family of Birmingham, MI, David, Lisa, Nathan, Evan, and Megan, Brett Salisbury of Rossford, OH, Scott Salisbury of Akron, OH, Jennie Wannemacher of Asheville, NC, Scott and Susan Hakel of Milford, OH, and the Pilke family of Port Chester, NY, George, Suey, and Daniel.
Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, December 2, 2013 at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors, Islands Chapel, Savannah, GA.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Wilmington Islands United Methodist Church.
Burial will be in Pike Run Cemetery in Lima, Ohio.

Just found out this was my friend jon today.I had a working and hanging relationship with jon. my wife and i even took him out when he first was around savannah several years ago. he was quiet at first but when you get know him hes great fun. We reconnected here at Gulfstream about two years ago, sadly we never got the chance to hang again. you where and would still be a great guy. wish i had a chance to have dinner and convo just once more,bless him and those whom loved him the most.

I am so sorry to hear this about Jonathan. He was such a nice person to be around. God truly has an awesome Angel with him now. Jonathan was such a Great guy and always had a smile on his face. My heart and prayers go out to his family during this sad time.

To the Edwards family: Like so many others, I knew Jon from Gulfstream. I also served jury duty with him a few years ago. He was well-liked like and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched.

I met John a few years back while he was roommates with my brother Brandon. He was so welcoming and a blast to hang out with. I remember eating at a Mexican restaurant that night and then we all went downtown savannah. Nothing but laughter and fun all night. He was a great person who will be missed by so many. However, he will live on thru all the wonderful memories he has left for others. Prayers for peace and comfort

I was in Wiesbaden, Germany with him and also got to see him again in Savannah. Always a nice guy and good friend. You'll definitely be missed man!! Thoughts and prayers go out to the family!

I'm so sorry to hear of Jon's passing. Always smiling and very kind to me. I only knew Jon for about a year now but it was great to have known him. He certainly will be missed by so many family and friends. RIP my friend..

My deepest condolences to the Edward's Family in your time of grief for the loss of your son Jon. To Jon's family. I worked with Jon on weekends when he would come to the tool crib window to get tools. He was always so cheerful, patient, and kind. Jon you will be missed a lot, especially that smile. My thoughts and prayers are with your family. RIP!!!!!!

Jonathan was my best friend through middle school, high school and for me up until now. During that time, that friendship became more like brothers. I will miss him so very much. So many of my childhood memories involves him and his family. My heart and prayers go out to his family, which I also consider my family. Joey will never be forgotten.

I had the pleasure of going to Georgia Aviation with Jon and working with him at Gulfstream. I remember his smile and good attitude always. I even have a story about him, "He and I were working on a G650 on the ramp last summer. We were closing up the doors on the airplane for the day. He was closing the tail compartment door and I was about to close the main entry door. As he was walking toward the front, I hit the switch to close the door and skydrol overflowed out of the vent all over him. I immediatly ran back to him to see if he was ok, and really expected him to be upset about it. He just smiled at me and walked into the hangar to clean up, I offered to go buy him a new blue t shirt from the company store and he wouldnt let me. Told me everything would be alright."
I will miss working with you Jon.

I am deeply saddened by John's death. There are no words to describe the loss of John. He and i went to Georgia Aviation together in eastman, And we where neighbors years later on Bryan Wood. john would always stop by with Nikki and we would talk about airplanes and old cars. he would extend his hand and help out anyway he could. mine and Candace's thoughts and prayers go out to the family. To John's family: i have known John for a few years at Gulfstream always walking around smiling and talking. When Winter would come in savannah he would never wear a jacket or hat nor a sweater.I would always say to him, John it's cold out here where is your hat or jacket? Don't need one it's hot outside! LOL! Boy will i miss saying that to him.He was such a pleasant, funny and caring guy at all times.He will be missed by us here at Gulfstream in the hangars for sure. So very sorry for your loss at this time.You are all in my prayers.
