Send FlowersLIMA -- Joseph R. "Joe" Bornhorst, 47 of Lima, passed away September 30, 2025, at his home. Joe was born September 21, 1978, in Dayton, OH, to Carl and Helena (Kleismit) Bornhorst, who survive him in Lima and Columbus.
Joe was a 1997 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School and he was the Owner and Operator of Premier Lawns, Inc. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing and hunting. Joe's dogs held a special place in his heart. He was a wonderful person and will be deeply missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sisters, Kathy (Kevin Connor) Bornhorst, Cindy Bruce, and Deborah (Pete) Roney; nieces and nephews, Drew Connor, Jack Bruce, Josie Bruce, Connor Bruce, Claire Roney and Megan Roney; former partner, Amy Lackey and her children; close friends, Ruth Hurlock, Jamie Brenner, and Brian Limbert and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Joe is preceded in death by his beloved dog, Cubby.
Funeral Service will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services - Shawnee Chapel. Visitation will be held from 4:00 PM until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be made to Deb's Dogs, 1560 Wonderlick Rd., Lima, OH 45805.

We are so sorry for the loss of Joe. We were your neighbors on West Market, Joe grew up with us. He was a frequent at our house. We have so many fond memories of "life with Joe around". A true gem of a guy. You and your family are in our prayers. The Joseph's
