DELPHOS -- Joseph A. Mueller, 86, of Delphos, passed away Tuesday evening, January 21, 2025 at The Meadows of Delphos.
He was born March 17, 1938 in Venedocia to Aloysius and Evelyn (Hesseling) Mueller who both preceded him in death. On August 19, 1961 he married Diane (Odenweller) Mueller who survives in Delphos.
Joe is also survived by a son, Brent (Jean) Mueller of Middle Point; daughters, Leah (Nick) Gordon and Elise (Nick) Clark both of Delphos; grandchildren, Elliot (Samantha Gaier) Mueller, Marie Mueller, Anna Mueller, Alex (Shelby) Clark, Eric (Jodie) Clark, Cole Gordon, Bailey Gordon and Caitlin Gordon; and great-grandchildren, Ayla, Lainey and Eden Clark. Also surviving are his sisters, Angela (Jerry) Hohlbein of Ottoville and Sr. Diane (Anna Marie) Mueller of Tiffin; and in-laws, Gary (Flo) Odenweller of Plainfield, IL, John (Norene) Odenweller of Perrysburg, David (Elaine) Odenweller of Ottawa and Steven (Barb) Odenweller of Russells Point.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Fr. Donald Mueller; sister, Janice (William) Deitering; infant sister, Roseann Mueller; a sister-in-law, Nancy (Ronald) Gerdeman; and a grandson, Kyle Clark.
Joe was retired from Ford as an assembler. He was very proud to have worked there 41 years. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. He was an avid gardener, and was meticulous about his yard and cars. He enjoyed playing cards with the family. He never missed an opportunity to play with his grandchildren. Joe was a simple, unassuming, kind and gentle man.
A Funeral Mass will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 25 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery.
Arrangements were entrusted Weber Funeral Home, 1840 E. Fifth St., Delphos.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Parish Foundation.
