LUCY SMITH
LIMA — Mrs. Lucy Bell Smith, age 82, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at approximately6:10 p.m.at Baton Rouge Health Services Community.
She was born on May 2, 1931 in Rutherford, Alabama to the union of Vandy and Martha Ann Dillard Cole, both parents preceded her in death.
She was married to Daniel Smith in 1962, who preceded her in death on May 15, 1973.
She retired from Lima Memorial Hospital after 41 years of service in the housekeeping department. She was a member of New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church where she was a member of the Mothers Board and she also served on the Usher Board.
She leaves to cherish her precious memory a God Daughter, Patricia Horrison (Thomas) of Lima. A host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three brothers: Mack Peterson, Sr., Free Cole and Eddie Peterson. Three sisters: Elizabeth Wiley, Effie Rogers and Lillian Bell Anderson.
Home Going Services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.at New Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, Rev. C. M. Manley, officiating.
Visitation/Wake services will be held on Monday, February 17, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. until time of services.
Interment: Woodlawn Cemetery

She's bound for Mt Zion sitting way out on the hill if anybody make surely she will. God bless you will be miss sitting on the Mother Board but now you can walk around heaven all day no more sickness nor pain.

Lucy Bell was always a smiling face in the Energency Room. I worked several years with her and was the most upbeat, positive person I knew! A very hard worker, always cheerful. My sympathies
