Marcus Landin

KALIDA — Marcus Dennis Landin, 19, of Kalida died Monday, December 25, 2017 at his residence of natural causes. He was born June 19, 1998 in Lima to John and Melinda (Selhorst) Landin who survive in Kalida.

He is also survived by a brother, Kyle Landin at home; paternal grandmother, Martha Landin of Ottoville; maternal grandfather, Eugene "Pete" Selhorst of Kalida; his dog, Lighting; uncles and aunts, Ron and Chris Landin of Ottoville, Nick and Connie Selhorst of Kalida, Jeff and Kelly Landin of Ottoville, Urban J. Selhorst of Kalida, Joe and Jane Selhorst of Kalida, and Shelley and Rob Trenkamp of Ottoville; his cousins, Cody Landin, Brandon Selhorst, Bryce Selhorst, Jordan Landin, Wyatt Landin, Erik Selhorst, Lauryn Selhorst, Danielle Trenkamp, Dustin Trenkamp, and Dana Trenkamp. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Dennis Landin, his maternal grandmother, Norma Selhorst, and an uncle, Neal Dobner.

Marcus worked at Toledo Molding and Die in Delphos. He was a 2017 graduate of Kalida High School and Vantage Vocational School. He had worked with his dad installing flooring and had also worked at Unverferth Manufacturing in Kalida. He was a member of 4-H OFK Showstoppers for 10 years.

Marcus loved his family and always had a comeback to everything. He enjoyed the outdoors, especially riding 4 wheelers, jet skis, and fishing, hunting, and gardening. He also operated remote controlled cars and flew drones. Marcus videotaped the Pioneer Days Parade for the Kalida Lions Club. He was always there to help.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 9:30 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017 at St. Michael's Catholic Church, Kalida with Fr. Mark Hoying officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. on Friday at LOVE-HEITMEYER FUNERAL HOME, Jackson Township.
