LIMA -- Mark A. Howell, 56, of Lima, passed away at his residence on August 18, 2022, at 5:17pm. He was born on October 16, 1965 in Lima to James L. and Bessie M. (Ely) Howell. His father preceded him in death and his mother survives in Lima.
Mark was a Lima Senior graduate, Class of 1985, a US Army Veteran, and he was employed at Dana Corp., as a machine operator. He enjoyed traveling, grilling for family and friends, nature, and telling Army stories to anyone who'd listen. His long-range plan was to retire and move to Clearwater, Fla.
He is survived by his sons; Stephon M. Shurelds of Ypsilanti MI., and Justin Sergent: his sisters; Monica E. Howell of Taylor MI., and Tamika Howell of Warren MI. His special friend, Stacy Upshaw, also survives in Lima. Mark had his grandchildren, of whom he was very proud: Shamiya Sergent, Emmaneigh Sergent, Embry Sergent, and Judah Shurelds.
Friends may call on Friday, September 2, 2022 at Hanneman-Siferd Funeral Home, 506 N. Cable Rd. Lima Ohio 45805 from 11am-1pm, with a service at 1pm officiated by the Rev. Arnold Manley. The family will be present from 12noon till time of services. Burial will immediately follow services at Memorial Park Cemetery, with Veteran Honors provided by the US Army Active Duty Honor Guard, VFW/American Legion Honor Guard, and the Patriot Guard Riders. Memorial contributions may be made to: charity of the donor's choice.
