Mark Saine Obituary

LIMA -- Mark Stephen Saine, age 71, passed away at 3:27 p.m. on Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center with his loving family by his side.

Mark was born October 22, 1953, in Lima, OH, to Norman D. and Patricia (Doyle) Saine. His dad preceded him in death on August 12, 2009.

Mark was a 1972 graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School. He was a "jack of all trades" and could fix anything. He had worked as a Master Plumber and, most recently, served as the Superintendent of the Oaks Golf Course in Lima. Mark enjoyed playing golf and he especially loved working and visiting with everyone at the Oaks. He was especially proud of his family and loved attending Senior High and LCC sporting events.

He is survived by his mom, Patricia A. Saine of Lima; siblings, Patrick D. Saine of Lima, John M. Saine of Lima, Philip R. (Becky) Saine of Lima, Eileen A. (David) Barger of Clarksville, TN, Joseph A. (Judy) Saine of Lima, David L. (Intira) Saine of Dayton, and Kerry A. (Richard ) Tullis of Boise, ID, sister-in-law, Kathy Saine of Lima; 18 nieces and nephews; and 10 great-nieces and nephews. Mark delighted in all his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, and was especially close to his nephews, Gavin and Stephen. He was a selfless son, brother, uncle, and friend, and will be deeply missed.

In addition to his dad, he is preceded in death by his sister, Colleen A. Saine, brother, Timothy J. Saine, and sister, Kathleen R. Saine.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Mark's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, at St. Rose Catholic Church, 523 N. West St, Lima, OH 45801. Father Dave Ross will officiate the service. A burial of cremated remains will be held later in Gethsemani Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 12, 2025, at Chiles-Laman Funeral and Cremation Services, Shawnee Chapel. A Rosary Service will be held at 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, following the visitation at the funeral home.

Mark was one of a kind. You rarely ever meet someone like him. He definitely passed way too soon. He will be greatly missed, especially from his best friend/ brother Eddie Csibi. He remodeled our home and made it beautiful. He was like a brother to me, and it breaks my heart that I can't be there to visit him one last time. Rest in peace my friend
