LIMA -- Mary Alice Hines, 75 of Lima, passed away July 19, 2024, at her home with her loving family by her side. Mary was born May 12, 1949 in Lima to O.B. and Mary (Howard) Hines, who preceded her in death.
Mary was a 1968 graduate of Lima Senior High School and she worked for many years in the Dietary Department at Mercy Health - St. Rita's Medical Center until her retirement on her birthday this year. She worked her job with love and compassion and she was a mentor to many.
Mary was one of the first members of In Faith Ministries International Church where she was very involved. She loved shopping and going to garage sales. Mary always had a cooking show on at home and she was a wonderful cook. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her sons, Marcus (Amy) Hines and Bryan (Lynnair Lowery) Hines, Sr.; grandchildren, Jayvon Green, Jaytoria McWay, Brilynn Hines, Bryana Hines, Lyric Hines, Bryan Hines, Jr., Brianna Channels, Khai Hines, Brayden Hines and Elijah Hines; great-granddaughters, LaMiyah Tottoy and Noe`mi Elbert; brothers, Willie F. Hines and Eddie L. Hines, Sr. and her nieces and nephews, Eddie L. Hines, Jr., James Ward, Jr., Jalina Rucker, Shariyah Hines and Dewintre Jackson.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, James E. Ward, Sr.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at In Faith Ministries International, 1575 E. High Street, Lima, OH 45804, with Pastor Mike Lyons to officiate and Pastor Kim Lyons to co-officiate. Visitation will be held from 11:00 AM until the time of the service at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to In Faith Ministries International.

Mary and I lived across the street from each from day one until I moved. I use to babysit for her kids and she use to babysit for me. Our families were like family.
