MATILDA TAYLOR
BLUFFTON — Matilda M. "Tillie" Taylor, age 93, was called home to the Lord at 5:45 am Monday, April 10, 2017, at Mennonite Memorial Home in Bluffton, where she had lived for the past four years.
Matilda was born July 27, 1923 in Lima, OH, to the late Henry and Mary Rose (Pichler) Harnishfeger. She married Leroy W. "Roy" Taylor on October 19, 1946 at St. Gerard Catholic Church in Lima, Ohio. Leroy passed away on June 12, 2007. They had two children: Mary Elizabeth (Jeffrey) Bensman and William "Bill" Taylor, both of Lima, Ohio.
She had four grandchildren: Brian (Tracy) Taylor of Medina, OH, Tim (Joyce) Bensman of Pasadena, CA, and Jennifer Taylor who preceded her in death and Rich (Laura) Bensman of Toledo, OH. She loved her grandchildren and spent much time with them.
She had five great-grandchildren: Brooks, Madeline and Hayden Taylor of Medina, OH, Cora Rose Bensman of Toledo, OH and Elle Bensman of Pasadena, CA.
Matilda was preceded in death by: daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Taylor, sister, Hanna Bible, her brothers, Emil "Mel" Stayonovich, Ted Harnishfeger, Steven Stayonovich, Fred Harnishfeger, Henry "Jack" Harnishfeger, William H. "Bill" Harnishfeger, Charles Harnishfeger, Frank Harnishfeger and John Harnishfeger.
She grew a large garden and enjoyed watching and feeding birds. She loved her cat. She did needlepoint and crocheting.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to the Mennonite Memorial Home for the wonderful care they gave to Tillie.
Funeral services will begin 2:30 pm Monday, April 24, 2017 at CHILES - LAMAN FUNERAL AND CREMATION SERVICES, EASTSIDE CHAPEL. Father Mike Sergi will officiate the service. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery Mausoleum following the service.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 - 5:00 pm Sunday, April 23, at the funeral home and one hour prior to the funeral on Monday.

So sorry to hear of Aunt Tillie passing. She certainly lived a full life. I'm sure it really got interesting for the Taylor boys when she showed up this week....thinking of you

I was sorry to read of Tillie's passing in the paper today. But I'm sure she's at peace now and was welcomed to heaven by Roy and Mary Ann (my sister). She was a wonderful lady! Love to you all!
