WAYNESFIELD -- Merlin Barnt, 86, of Waynesfield, died at 9:12 a.m. on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at Otterbein Senior Life in Cridersville.
Merlin was born December 10, 1938 to the late Ray and Dorothy {Bryant} Barnt. He married Joyce Marie {Underwood} Barnt on August 20, 1956. They have four children: Cindy Marie (Zink) Barnt, Jana Barnt, Rick (Gina) Barnt, and Elaine Barnt, two brothers: Kenny Barnt and Jerry (Cheryl) Barnt, 5 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one grandchild, parents, wife, sister, and 2 brothers.
Merlin was a proud member of Pilgrim Holiness Church. He was a retiree from Ford Motor Company. He loved the outdoors and playing the harmonica.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 10, 2025 from 10 a.m. -1 p.m. at Pilgrim Holiness Church in Lima. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Pastor Donald Nichols will officiate. Entombment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum, Lima, Ohio.

We are so sorry to hear of Merlin's passing. He was a nice man. Mom and I always enjoyed going out for desert with the group after church on Wednesday nights after my Dad's passing. I am the daughter of Gordon and Mary Lucas.
