CRIDERSVILLE — Nancy D. Dotson, age 81, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2020. She was born on January 3, 1939, to Conway "Connie" and Bernice (Swick) Dotson in Cridersville, OH. Nancy was an only child with a very free spirit. She LOVED and taught dancing and had her own majorette group, The Nan-ettes, in both Michigan and Ohio. Along with a fantastic sense of sarcasm and humor, Mom also loved to tell stories and make people laugh. She had a voracious love for reading, writing, nature, traveling and her dogs. Nancy is survived by her loving family, her pride and joy; Mark (Kimberly) Dershem of Montague, MI, Tod (Terri) Dershem of Coweta, OK, Chad (Stephani) Newsome of Lafayette, IN, and Sean (Nancy Jo) Newsome of North Muskegon, MI; grandchildren; Kelly (Shana), Ryan, Bradley, Audrey, Amber, Ian, Isaiah, Elizabeth, Daniel, Chris, Aria, Seth, and Arwyn; seven great-grandchildren - Katelyn, Brendan, Aiden, Liam, Colt, Landyn, and Emily. Per Nancy's wishes, no services will be held, however, she was a very strong supporter of Hospice Care, so if you would like, please make donations to your local hospice facilities in her honor. To all of Nancy's family,
I am so sorry to learn Nancy is no longer with you. She now is at rest and no longer suffering. May that give you peace. I am Beverly Dotson, widow of her cousin, Gene Dotson.
Our daughter Laura was in the Nanettes and enjoyed your Mother very much. I had not seen Nancy for quite sometime but do have good memories of family time together many years ago. My deepest sympathy to you all!

As Gary and I lived in their apartment upstairs when we got married in 1952 we got to know the Dotson's very well. We went on vacation to Arizona with them in their car in April, 1953. Connie and Bernice were very close friends of Gary's parents and were together a lot until their deaths. Loved them and Nancy always. Sorry to hear her passing. It was a surprise a classmate lives next door to us. JoLane Foster(now Van Buskirk.

As a member of the Lima Senior High Class of 1957, I knew Nancy since our 7th grade days at Lima South. It was always a pleasure to see and talk with her at our reunions. Nancy was always upbeat and cheerful, a lovely person.
