COLUMBUS GROVE -- Nancy Jean Goedde, 76, of Columbus Grove, passed away after a short illness on Friday. January 3, 2025 at Liberty Retirement Community of Lima. She was born July 30, 1948 to the late Gladwin "Pete" and Mary (Barkimer) Smith. She was previously married to Thomas Henry Goedde, who preceded her in death.
She was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Columbus Grove and the VFW Post 9648 Auxiliary, Columbus Grove. She worked at Hilty Nursing Home for several years as a nurse's aide, and was a caregiver for people in their homes. She also worked at Walmart for several years. Nancy also was a co-owner of Axhandle Quilters with Susanne Edwards. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, and cooking. She especially loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her daughter, Tina (Mark) LaBean of West Branch, MI; grandchildren, Dwight (Holly) Baker, Kendra Baker, and Brooke LaBean; great grandchildren, Hendrix Zamorane, Anthony Sadler, and Ariana Sadler; step-brother, Robert "Bob" (Sarah) Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Larry Smith, and Mary Cramer; step-brothers, Terry Anderson, and Irvin "Butch" (Polly) Anderson; step-sister, Sharon (Scott) Hofferbert Bledsoe; brother-in-law, Ray Hofferbert.
